Creator Picks NYC: How ToyBeta Brought 80 Creators and 10 Brands Under One Roof

On April 9, 2025, a converted industrial space in New York City transformed into something extraordinary. For one day, the boundaries between brand and creator, product and content, commerce and community dissolved entirely. Creator Picks NYC—co-hosted by Puff Media, FastMoss, YooFinds, and ToyBeta—brought together over 80 creators and 10 brands for an event that would redefine how industry participants thought about creator commerce.

The format was deliberately unconventional. Rather than the standard trade show approach—brands behind booths, buyers with badges, business cards exchanged in fluorescent-lit halls—Creator Picks created an environment of genuine creative collaboration. Products were displayed as inspiration rather than inventory. Creators moved freely between stations, handling items, brainstorming concepts, and capturing content in real-time. The energy felt more like a creative festival than a commercial event.

'We wanted to create something that felt authentic to how creators actually work,' explains Zhang Mingchi, CEO of Puff Media. 'Creators don't want scripted talking points or forced product placements. They want to discover things organically, tell their own stories, and share genuine enthusiasm with their audiences. Creator Picks was designed to facilitate exactly that kind of authentic discovery.'

The results exceeded expectations. Participating creators produced hundreds of pieces of content during and after the event, generating millions of impressions across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms. But the metrics tell only part of the story. More significant was the quality of connections formed—brands building direct relationships with creators who genuinely loved their products, creators discovering brands they would champion for years, and the ToyBeta team gathering insights that would shape product selection and marketing strategy for months to come.

Partnerships were central to the event's success. FastMoss brought data intelligence that helped identify optimal creator-brand matches. YooFinds contributed platform technology that streamlined product discovery and content tracking. And ToyBeta provided the curated product portfolio and physical infrastructure that made the entire experience possible. This tri-partnership model—data, platform, and product—has since become a template for future events.

'Creator Picks proved that the future of brand marketing isn't advertising; it's architecture,' Zhang Mingchi reflects. 'Instead of paying for attention, we built an environment where attention flows naturally. We created conditions for genuine creative chemistry, then got out of the way. The content that emerged was more authentic, more engaging, and more effective than anything we could have scripted. That's the model we're replicating and scaling.'
